The Mature Students’ Association (MSA) is a member-run community at the University of Glasgow, and is celebrating its 40th year in 2026/27. All students aged 21 or over at the start of their current course are welcome to join!
Members have 24/7 access to the MSA building all year round, with 30+ quiet study spaces with computers, Wi-Fi, university printing, lockers, kitchen facilities and free tea and coffee. The MSA is currently based at 12 Southpark Terrace while its usual home at 62 Oakfield Avenue is being repaired.
The Association also runs monthly social events, including a Halloween party (30 Oct), Christmas dinner, Burns Night and an annual Ceilidh. Its pub quiz team does a different quiz in the West End or city centre each week, and its very active Outdoor Club heads out for a walk or hike almost every weekend. A dedicated Welfare Officer is also on hand to help members and point them towards support if needed.
Membership is £15 for the year. Details on how to join are on the MSA’s SRC page, and you can follow the Association on Instagram to find out about their latest events. To find out more or arrange a visit to the building before joining, please email maturestudents@src.gla.ac.uk.
