It's March and Spring is in the air! There's never been a better time to get out and about in the city and check out the various festivities and events taking place so here are a few highlights for your consideration.

At the University
Scottish Ensemble: Between Light and Shadow (University Concert Hall, 11 March)
What could be better than hearing the music of Beethoven and Mozart performed by a quartet of Scottish Ensemble musicians!
Beth Malcolm (University Concert Hall, 19 March)
Head to the Concert Hall on the 19th to hear Scots Singer of the Year and UofG alumna Beth Malcolm and her friends in a special lunchtime concert.
Naad-hari (University Concert Hall, 26 March)
The final concert of the month will be from ‘Naad-hara’, a quintet of award-winning musicians from India and Scotland who draw from both cultures to create unique compositions and songs.
Charity
The Big Bethany Sleep Out 2026 (Glasgow City Chambers, 13 March)
The Big Bethany Sleep Out is back to raise awareness of homelessness and support the work of the amazing Bethany Trust.
Comedy
Glasgow International Comedy Festival (Various Venues, 11 to 29 March)
Some of the biggest names in comedy, including Harry Enfield, Alan Davies and Jack Docherty will be taking to the mic at venues across the city!

Retro Reels (Riverside Museum, 10 January to 29 March)
Take a nostalgic journey back to the 1980's with props, stories, and other memorabilia from some of the decade's most iconic films. Highlights include E.T., Daleks, Star Wars Storm Troopers and the famous DeLorean from Back to the Future!

Alter Bridge (OVO Hydro, 2 March)
The American rock heavyweights are back in town with their What Lies Within tour on the 2nd. Support from Daughtry and Sevendust.
Lily Allen (Royal Concert Hall, 2 March)
Fresh after releasing her fifth studio album, West End Girl, Lily Allen is taking it on the road!
Cruz Beckham (King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, 3 March)
The youngest son of the Beckham clan plays his first ever Scottish gig at the legendary King Tut's.
David Byrne (SEC, 6 and 7 March)
Spend an evening with iconic Talking Heads frontman David Byrne as he tours his brand new album Who is the Sky?
Derek Forbes (Òran Mór, 7 March)
The man who provided the bass lines to Simple Minds biggest hits (Up on the Catwalk, Don't You (Forget About Me), Alive and Kicking) will be bringing his band to the West End for a special set that will also include a Q&A session and book signing!
MGK (OVO Hydro, 8 March)
The multi-award winning pop, punk, rap, rocker has crossed the pond on the latest leg of his Lost Americana Tour.
Kesha (OVO Hydro, 11 March)
Noughties pop superstar Kesha brings her headline tour to the Hydro on the 11th.
Alex James Britpop Classical (Royal Concert Hall, 19 March)
The former Blur bassist teams up with the Royal Scottish Orchestra to reimagine some of the biggest hits of the Britpop era. There will also be appearance from some famous Britpop faces including Saffron from Republica, Simon Fowler from Ocean Colour Scene and Gary Stringer from Reef.
Gorillaz (OVO Hydro, 24 March)
Alex James isn't the only Blur member in town this month. Frontman Damon Albarn will at the Hydro with his cartoon supergroup, The Gorillaz, to launch their ninth studio album, The Mountain.
Handel's Messiah (City Halls, 28 March)
The City of Glasgow Chorus will take on George Frideric Handel's Messiah, including the rousing Hallelujah Chorus, in the beautiful surroundings of the City Halls.
Basement Jaxx (Royal Concert Hall, 31 March)
English electronic music pioneers, Basement Jaxx have graced us with many special hits over years and they'll be bringing them to the Royal Concert Hall on the 31st!
Richard Ashcroft (OVO Hydro, 31 March)
We've got another Cool Britannia legend in town to close out the month at the Hydro! Fresh from opening for Oasis at their comeback concerts last year, former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft is back with a brand new album, as well as the classic hits!
