Start out in Sport with GUSA's Active Buddy Scheme

Posted 1 week ago

Get started in the gym, no experience necessary

If you're keen on getting involved in the gym but don't know how or where to get started, the GUSA Active Buddies programme may be just for you!

Taking up a new sport or joining a new gym can be a daunting experience, especially if you're on your own. Thanks to Glasgow University Sports Association's (GUSA) Active Buddy Scheme you can now join with a BUDDY who will guide, support and encourage you as you start your fitness journey!

GUSA Buddy's are trained volunteers who'll inspire you to train well, develop your abilities and become more confident in the gym. Your Buddy will be matched as best as possible on areas such as your interests and availability so you'll hopefully make a new friend into the bargain!

How many weeks would the programme last?

As a Participant, you will have access to our facilities for 4 sessions with your Buddy who you have been partnered with to try out attending the gym or one of the brilliant fitness classes.

This will mean you get free entry into the gym for these 4 sessions. This is a great way to see the facilities and see why you should buy a gym membership.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the team at gusa-health@glasgow.ac.uk .
