Get yourself around Glasgow with VOI e-bikes

Posted 19 hours ago

Over 1000 e-bikes can be found at stands across the city!

In November 2025, VOI became Glasgow City's suppliers for bike hire and kicked off a new era for cycling in the city! With a fleet of over 1000 e-bikes being added to stations across the city, you'll never be far from a smooth affordable transport option to get you to lectures or your residence!

How to get started with VOI

Getting started with VOI is really easy:

1. Download the Voi app on the App Store or Google Play

2. Set up your payment details

3. Find your bike, unlock and enjoy the ride!

When you're finished, remember to return your bike at a designated parking location.

How much does it cost?

If you'd like to take a trial run on a bike to see if you like them then you can get your first 15-minutes free by entering the code SCOTLAND in the app! After that initial 15 minutes, you'll be able to hire the bikes for £2.99 per half hour

VOI is currently working to set up a student discount which will be available with subscriptions and the Uni is continuing to explore ways of co-operation to give students and staff more opportunities to take advantage of the service.

For a good selection of routes be sure to check out the Aye Cycle Glasgow website. Glasgow City Council and Visit Scotland also has some nice selections and you'll find lots of ideas and maps on apps like Strava and MapMyRide.
