Our Overnight Guest Procedure will give you all the details on how to get it sorted!
After arrivals weekend and Freshers Week are done and dusted, all students in single rooms* are able to have a friend stay overnight in their bedroom for a maximum of three nights, per calendar month, free of charge.
Here's how you go about arranging a visit:
- Firstly, speak to your flatmates and get their consent to welcome your friend to the flat. Remember that only one guest per flat is allowed at any time (1 per 5 students for larger flats) so it's good to coordinate your visitors.
- Visit your site office at least 24 hours before your visitor's proposed arrival and complete an Overnight Guest booking form. The top part of the form will be returned to you and the bottom kept by the office.
After your guest has arrived to stay with you make sure that you give them your part of the booking form and ask them to hold on to it for the duration of their stay. You should also make sure that your guest has familiarised themselves with fire alarm procedure and is aware of what to do in the event of activation.
The overwhelming number of guests welcomed into halls are well behaved and have a great time but just remember that, as the resident and contract holder, you would be responsible for any damage or disruption so it's vital that your guests are respectful and follow all the guidance.
