In Brooke House, Dumfries Hall and Laurieknowe Hall, the rooms have been set up with everything you need for a successful year at University. You’ve got a:
- Bed - All rooms in Brooke House and Laurieknowe Hall have standard single beds (3ft Wide) Dumfries Hall has small double beds (4ft Wide).
- Ensuite - toilet, shower and wash hand basin
- Desk and desk lamp
- Chair
- Wardrobe
- Book/storage shelves
- Noticeboard
We provide a set of bed linen and bedding and it will be in your room waiting for your arrival. Included in the bedding pack is; a mattress protector, sheet, duvet and cover, pillow and pillow case.
Whilst we want you to make your room feel like home, please remember to use the pin boards for your posters and don’t use blue or white tack, tape, pins or nails on the walls. Any necessary redecoration needed when you leave will be charged to you.
Your Kitchen
In all of our Dumfries Residences, you'll find your kitchen is well-equipped with:
- Cooker
- Fridge-freezer
- Microwave
- Kettle
- Dining table and chairs
- Individual shelf space
Cutlery, crockery, pots and basic cooking utensils are provided but you’ll need to bring your own towels.
Maintenance Requests
If you ever experience any problems with your bedroom or kitchen you can report maintenance issues directly to your site team through the Accommodation Services Maintenance Request Form.
Any Emergency Repairs, including the reinstatement of a utility or vital service or a temporary repair prior to a full repair being carried out e.g. serious water leaks, roof leaks, faulty door locks, failure of heating and water systems, should be reported to your site office or duty Residence Life Assistant (out of hours) asap.
Flat Inspections
Your rooms and kitchen will be inspected each term so it's always a good idea to stay on top of the cleaning! For more info on passing your flat inspection see our UofGLiving guide.
Going to be away?
If you are planning to spend a night or two away from your residence, please let your site team know so they can keep the fire list up to date.
